Note to Michele : I know I told you that I would maintain a freshly-shaven face. But the thing is, you see, I lied. Sorry!

Beard update, Day 3. Coming in pretty well. Not so scratchy, but not yet soft. Hopefully my day off at Glacier Nat'l Park will give it enough time to begin having a "legitimate" look (as opposed to "On the Lam").

Day 4 : Still pretty itchy and scratchy. Fortunately, the people at Canadian Customs didn't take that 'terrorist' angle I feared they would.

Day 6: (no pic for Day 5, but really, it pretty much looks just like this one...) Athabasca Glacier provides a dramatic backdrop for a rather undramatic collection of facial hair. Thus far, that "Grizzly Adams" look I have been wishing for just ain't happening....

Day 7: I made a horrific discovery today : My first GRAY HAIR! It is shown by the blue arrow, but fortunately it isn't really resolvable in this photo. By the time I get to Anchorage, I will have either pulled it out or dyed my face...

Coming in a little better. Here at the campground at Liard hot springs, BC. The smoke behind me is from my little campfire, an artistic photo if there ever was one...

Day 11. Swampy campsite in the background. Nothing remarkable about the "beard." Michele may win her battle to get me to shave after all...
