Back in the spring of this year, the family loaded up the car and headed out to New Mexico to visit Uncle Marty (to Lauren, Great Uncle Marty, or "Gummy"). We went driving in the mountains and Gummy had a bit of an accident -- he fell off this cliff into the water below. Fortunately, he was not extremely injured but he did need lots and lots of stitches. While on a company field trip to New Mexico (to see a good example of an extensional structural environment), we happened to visit the exact same spot where Gummy caught a case of rock poisoning. This is looking down the exact site where he fell. He landed at the arrow. A few more feet out and he would have been swept up in the raging stream (the stream was quite a bit higher in the spring). Lauren was a trooper during the ordeal, but now and then when she sees a mountain she asks questions like, "Hey, why dat Gummy fall down dat mountain?"
