Lauren has graduated from a crib to a big-girl bed.

With winter just around the corner, we decided to brave the chilly nights and go camping on saturday night. We camped near Seward and even though the forecast called for rain, the weather was beautiful. We built a fire, cooked some mac and cheese and hot dogs, and then roasted some marshmellows. Here are some pics from that trip...

Labor Day was a holiday for Daddy and Lauren, but Mommy had to work. So Daddy and Lauren had a big Daddy-n-Lauren Day. We went to the Alaska Zoo, went to see Mulan (Daddy asked Lauren who the bad guy was, and Lauren told the entire theater, "Dat Bad Man is Shan-Yu. I remember his name!"), and then we went hiking at Flattop Mountain, in the Chugach Nat'l Forest. It is right at the edge of town and you can see the mountain from our living room window. Lauren was a fabulous little hiker. We hiked about halfway up and it started getting a little too steep to be lugging a bag of diapers and a fidgety 3-year old on my shoulders. Here we are at the peak of our little hike.
