Our first camping trip was to Anchor Point, on Memorial Day weekend. Yes, it is kind of a haul but the place we stay at (Eagle's Rest) has full hookups. I.E., we have electricity and water, and they have showers and laundry, which all can come in handy if the weather doesn't cooperate. We lucked out, and it was beautiful the whole weekend. I caught no fish, however.
